they give the picture quality of the more expensive DVs and the only trade off is thier bulkier size. Which is actually an advantage if you are making movies becos you get steadier handheld shots.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">you right. you can get steadier footage with a bigger camera, even if you don't keep the LCD open!
But i actually read that NOW every D8 movie camera is actually WORST than MiniDV.

by the time i was 16 i owned well over a grands worth of guitar equipment. Im not rich... just have learnt how to save money. I suggest you do the same If you save ?5 a week aswell as any birthday/Xmas money then it soon adds up. You could always think about getting a proper job aswell since paper round pay peanuts, 2 hours at minimum wage will probably pay more than a whole week of papers. Another thing is to bug your parents... ask them if you can wash the car, hoover the house... anything for money. If you show them how much you want the money for a camera they might even lend you the money for you to pay back each week. Not too long till Xmas, maybe your parents would get you one if you went half with the costs or something like that. ?400 isnt that big a target.

Maybe theres some youth center that you could approach with your mates and say you wanna start making movies will they buy a camera. Loads of things you can do

Good luck

Well- you ask for advice on what camera to get- but you keep emphasizing that it must be cheap, you're only gonna get what you pay for- so why not save up your cash and borrow Uncle Billy's* Mini DV cam for the time being.

[* = Uncle Billy being whatever family member or friend that has a Mini-DV or digital camcorder.]
